Prepare Your Skin
Avoid sun exposure. Tanning, from the sun or from a tanning bed, can cause your skin to become sensitive which may negatively affect the healing process and lead to sub-optimal results. Don’t apply lotions or creams on the day of your appointment. Avoid using lotions, oils, or creams on the treatment area as dry clean skin is ideal for the procedure. Exfoliate and shave the area, if necessary, 2 days prior to your appointment. Keep your skin and body hydrated. Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment. Essentially we want the treatment area to be as healthy as possible and prepared to facilitate better contact between the skin and the treatment device.
Be Ready to Discuss Your Stretch Marks
During your consultation the Paramedical Tattoo Artist, Jenna, will ask you questions about the history of your stretch mark to gain a better understanding of how to best treat the area. Think back to when the stretch mark first appeared, what treatments you’ve tried prior to Inkless Stretch Mark Revision, and any other relevant information you can think of. I recommend jotting down some notes in your notes app to make sure you remember to communicate all the necessary information. Think about what you’re wanting out of this treatment and communicate them with your Paramedical Tattoo Artist so she can adjust your treatment plan and set clear expectations.
What to Wear
Wear loose fitting comfortable clothing to make accessing the treatment area easier for the Paramedical Tattoo Artist, but it also keeps you comfortable during your procedure and helps with the aftercare as loose fitting clothing will protect you from direct sunlight and reduce friction with the treatment area.
Other Health Considerations
If you’re under 18, pregnant, or nursing Inkless Stretch Mark Revision is not recommended. Refrain from using blood thinning medication. Alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners, even aspirin, can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising or swelling. Prior to your appointment, reach out to your Paramedical Tattoo Artist with any health concerns you may have.
